The artist with his work in 2018.

Ben is a young queer artist living in Philadelphia. He works in painting, illustration, fiber craft, installation, floral design and sculpture from natural materials. His paintings and illustrations frequently draw on themes of psychedelia, surrealism, dreams, spirituality, sexuality, rock and roll, mysticism, and self reflection. Visually, his work explores iconography, symbolism, notions of whimsy and vibrant electric colors. Often depicting decorated scenes of rooms and imagined spaces, landscapes, beings and creatures, Ben’s work is a reflection of what he sees in the external world and his own imagined inner world, creating a space for both realms to exist simultaneously.

A 2018 graduate of Tyler School of Art, Ben now works and keeps up with his own studio practice, born out of a curiosity to always explore something new and give light to imagination.
